FlowTrace
Your footage stays on your device.
FlowTrace is an Android camera app from Unfolding Ltd. for light-trail photos and silent motion clips. Your camera footage and effects are processed on your device.
What the app uses
FlowTrace uses the camera while you compose and capture, and the device's motion sensors when available to help manage camera movement. Images, recordings, and temporary camera and motion measurements are processed locally.
The app does not require an account. It does not upload your photos, recordings, clips, or diagnostic files. It does not include advertising, analytics, or remote crash-reporting services.
Your photos and clips
Finished photos save automatically to Pictures/FlowTrace. Finished motion clips save to Movies/FlowTrace. Crop, cleanup, and motion-style edits save as separate copies; your original saved result is kept.
Motion capture also keeps a compressed, silent recording in private app storage so you can retry processing or change the style. That recording and up to two private edited previews stay available until you choose Take another clip or explicitly discard the recording. Switching to Photo mode does not discard it. Interrupted sessions may be offered for recovery when you reopen the app.
Removing a private recording does not delete clips already saved to your gallery. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes private app recordings. You can delete saved photos and clips through your device's gallery or file controls.
Permissions
FlowTrace requests camera access. It does not request microphone, location, or contacts access. Motion clips have no audio. On Android 8 and 9, storage permission is needed to publish a finished clip to your media library. Newer versions save through Android's app-owned media-storage interface without requesting broad access to your library.
Sharing and support
Nothing is shared automatically. If you choose Share, Android sends the saved file to the app you select. That app handles the file under its own privacy practices; FlowTrace does not receive a copy.
If you contact support, include only information you intend to share. Device model, Android version, FlowTrace version, and a description of the issue are usually a useful starting point. Do not send private footage unless you choose to provide it and have permission to share it.
Special diagnostic builds may offer optional troubleshooting exports. These stay on the device unless you share them and can contain small image proxies and camera, motion, and processing details. This diagnostic interface is not included in the ordinary release build.
